Our Story

Founded in 1985 by Chief Executive Officer, Timothy R. Lies, THE INTERIOR DESIGN GROUP LTD. has grown from a one-man shop to a team of dedicated professionals. Over the years, we've expanded and relocated our offices, starting in Wheaton, IL, then moving to Glen Ellyn, IL, Oak Brook, IL, and eventually settling in Lisle, IL. In 2020, we celebrated a significant milestone - 35 years in business!

Our commitment to excellence has earned us architectural licenses in five states, and we continue to pursue additional licenses in other regions. We're proud of our team's hard work and dedication, which has made us one of the premier design firms in the industry.

Meet Our Team

Our team is the backbone of our company, and we're proud to have such talented individuals on board. From our CEO, Timothy Lies, to our President, Christine Lies, and our team of experienced architects and designers, we're a family that works together to achieve extraordinary results.

Timothy Lies, our CEO, is a graduate from the Harrington Institute of Interior Design with over 30 years of experience. He's actively involved in the day-to-day work, ensuring all projects meet the high quality IDG is known for. His passion for cars translates to his business approach, making sure everything runs smoothly like a well-oiled machine.

Christine Lies, our President, has been with the company since its inception. She views all clients as partners and works hard to earn their trust. Her commitment to building strong relationships has led to a high incidence of repeat business.

Jessica Lies, our NCARB, AIA Registered Architect, followed in her parents' footsteps with a love for design. With an architecture degree from the Illinois Institute of Technology and licenses in four states, she's not afraid to get her hands dirty, both in the office and outside, as she loves Jeeps and off-roading.

Ryan Debari, our Vice President Senior Architectural Associate, has over 20 years of experience in the industry. He's worked on every aspect of a project, from initial client contact to project completion, and has a Master's Degree in Architecture and Civil Engineering/Construction Management.
