Founded in 1982, our studio has evolved into a top leader in the industry, driven by our passion for creating extraordinary beauty and luxury in homes and unique, well-planned interiors.

Our Story

Our story begins with the unique bond between our directors, Jill Tran and Carmen Thomas. As brothers, they have been best friends for over two decades, and their shared passion for design and creativity brought them together to form Tran + Thomas Design Studio in 2011. With their individual strengths complementing each other perfectly, Jill and Carmen have created a powerful alliance that benefits our clients in ways other interior designers cannot compare.

Our Team

Our team consists of experienced designers, each with their unique skills and expertise. Jill Tran, our owner and principal designer, is a creative force with a wealth of knowledge and experience in fabrics, soft goods, and construction. Carmen Thomas, also an owner and principal designer, has a diverse range of skills, including interior design and business degrees, as well as industry licensures, LEED accreditation, and numerous design awards and publications.

Meet Our Designers

Our team of designers is comprised of talented individuals with diverse backgrounds and expertise. Melody Mirakian, our senior designer, has over two decades of experience in the field, with a passion for guiding clients through a dialogue-driven creative process. Patrice Mendelson, our designer II, has a background in art and design, and has managed local art galleries and consulted with clients. Emile Batrouny, our designer I, specializes in technical CAD aspects of the design process, furniture, and casework design. Lori Wallis, our purchasing manager and office manager, has over 15 years of experience in the interior design trade and has worked in the industry for over 20 years. Brandi Hendrix, our bookkeeper, is a seasoned accounting professional with a passion for working with small business owners. Bryann Brophy, our designer I, has recently joined our team and brings with her a fresh perspective and creative energy.
