The Yellow Chair is a Northern California-based full-scale boutique design and build firm that has been a leader in the Northern California Design & Build industry for the last 10 years. Founded by husband and wife team Mike and Kallie McKean, we provide high-end, full-service interior design and construction services for both residential and commercial spaces. How We Began

The chair is the story of how one piece of furniture could bind us in such a remarkable way. It resonates in everything we do. This simple, worn, much-loved chair has found its way from porch to porch among many of our family members in years gone by. The underside is a sloppy mosaic of teal, red, orange, and black, a glimpse of its story in years of paint. Painting it yellow gave it a second chance to be loved, to become something to grace OUR porch. The now yellow chair, our chair, is a symbol for making OLD things NEW, and that is what we are all about.
